Vermont Fuel Assistance Program

The state of Vermont has a program for Vermont residents who need help paying for heating fuel and heating oil during the cold winter months. Vermont’s Seasonal Fuel Assistance Program is managed by the state’s Agency of Human Services.

There are a number of conditions that must be satisfied in order to be eligible for this program. Some of the qualifying conditions include whether the applicant owns or rents an apartment or home, whether the person pays the heating/electric bills, or whether the person lives in government subsidized housing.  There are also income requirements that must be met to be eligible.

The VT Department for Children and Families, parent agency of the Agency of Human Services has a website with information about the program, including application information and a phone number to apply or inquire about the Fuel Assistance Program in Vermont.
